Steyr Puch Pinzgauer 712 high top configuration with tropical engine and extra large fuel tank. Year of manufacture 1989 (4 years after the production line for the petrol models finished).
From the information I have received, I believe only two stock vehicles were made with this roof height (165cm standing height in the back) and the canvas top. Believed to have been commissioned by the Austrian police forced, then transferred to the UN for food deliveries in inaccessible regions.
54,500 kilometers on the clock, approximately 34,000 miles.
The vehicle is light for a 712. It comes in at 2160kg with a full tank of fuel and is classed as Private Light Goods, so can be driven with any car licence.
The vehicle has been in dry storage throughout my 7 years of ownership.
It was last put through an MOT 2.5 years ago and has only done 400 km since then. The vehicle has never failed or had a single advisory during an MOT, in my ownership.
Superb condition, close to being totally rust free (small area of bubbling on one of the side panels).
The paint job isn't fantastic, but it is heavy covering with zinc primer being utilised.
The light blue paint areas that can be seen in the rear are just a quick covering, where the topcoat has been scratched when loading the vehicle.
Civilian ignition with Pertronix and flame thrower coil (brand new ignition leads).
Flexi-pipe upgrade on the exhaust, new exhaust muffler with less than 200 miles on it.
24v to 12v step down converter in the cab.
Engine temperature gauge.
Rebuilt carbs with zero mileage on them.
Brand new front brake pads and cylinder pistons.
Drivers seat is from a Pinzgauer 716 turbo diesel - far more comfortable than the stock seat.
7 maxxis mud terrain 255/85/16 tyres, which have just been rotated (minimum of 80% tread remains on all of them - spare is unused).
The vehicle has not been driven regularly for nearly 2.5 years, but it has been moved every 2 weeks, to keep everything moving freely, so it will require a thorough tune up. Prior to its last MOT, every fluid in the vehicle was changed and all filters and spark plugs were changed. The vehicle has only done 400km since its last MOT.
The canvas top has some scarring on it from scraping branches and two of the plastic windows have been patched, this doesn't look brilliant, but it is water tight.
The side rub rails do come with the vehicle, but they are currently in the back of the vehicle. The rub rails are not the standard hard wood, they are rubber. I do believe these are original, due to the nature of the folding down side panels on the vehicle.
The internal engine cover is in immaculate condition, it has no cracks or blemishes.
All three doors have a lock.
Included with the sale are various items that I was planning to install or that I removed when I performed an upgrade. They are:-

A second spare wheel and unused 255/85/16 tyre, plus inner tube.
